This design showcase is a festival for fans of both skateboarding and the arts. For our first festival we have invited 3 legendary skateboard graphic designers to speak about their experiences with and skateboarding alike! Mark Gonzales, Vernon Courtland Johnson, and David Habben.

8739 Kona Ave,
Jacksonville, FL
32211

To make this event as successful as possible, we have asked Kona Skatepark to allow skaters of all ages to try out their park. Skaters under the age of 18 will have to fill out a waiver before skating.

Concurrent with his legendary skateboarding career, Gonz has also established himself as a contemporary artist, whose spontaneous and avant-garde visual expressions have been seen in galleries worldwide, used in Calvin Klein ad campaigns and served as graphics for his skateboard company – Krooked Skateboards. Gonz original designs have been long sought after by collectors of all walks, including Donald Trump and Sean Combs

VC Johnson is the genius behind the graphics that propelled Powell·Peralta into the stratosphere. His iconic images have inspired countless others to not only draw, but in some cases, to begin skating in the first place. An enigmatic figure, he disappeared off of the radar for almost 20 years until starting to work with Pocket Pistols a few years ago, and now back in his rightful place, Powell·Peralta.
